TORRENT POWER at All Time High; BSE POWER Index Up 2.7%

TORRENT POWER share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 544 (up 7.1%).

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 3,385 (up 2.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER Index today are TORRENT POWER (up 7.1%) and SIEMENS (up 0.6%).

RELIANCE INFRA (down 0.7%) and ADANI TRANSMISSION (down 2.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TORRENT POWER has moved up from Rs 307 to Rs 544, registering a gain of Rs 237 (up 75.7%).

The BSE POWER has moved up from 1,634 to 3,385, registering a gain of 1,751 points (up 106.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were JSW ENERGY (up 591.2%), ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 504.5%) and RELIANCE INFRA (up 353.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 60,476 (up 0.7%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are MARUTI SUZUKI (up 4.1%), POWER GRID (up 3.4%) and NTPC (up 2.8%). Other gainers include KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 2.8%) and ONGC (up 2.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and ICICI BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 18,042 (up 0.8%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include TATA MOTORS (up 9.1%), COAL INDIA (up 4.5%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 4.2%). Other gainers include GRASIM (up 3.6%) and POWER GRID (up 3.1%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 39,879 to 60,476, registering a gain of 20,597 points (up 51.6%).

TORRENT POWER Financial Update…

TORRENT POWER net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended June 2021, compared to a loss of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 4.9% to Rs 31.0 billion during the period as against Rs 29.5 billion in April-June 2020.

For the year ended March 2021, TORRENT POWER reported 9.9% increase in net profit to Rs 13.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.8 billion during FY20.

Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 122 billion during FY21.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 23.0x.<!–
