TORRENT POWER at All Time High; BSE POWER Index Up 0.2%

TORRENT POWER share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 545 (down 1.3%).

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 3,416 (up 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER Index today are TORRENT POWER (down 0.4%) and SIEMENS (up 0.4%).

NHPC (down 0.2%) and BHEL (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TORRENT POWER has moved up from Rs 304 to Rs 545, registering a gain of Rs 240 (up 74.8%).

The BSE POWER has moved up from 1,630 to 3,416, registering a gain of 1,786 points (up 107.6%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were JSW ENERGY (up 589.5%), ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 491.5%) and RELIANCE INFRA (up 362.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 60,264 (up 0.2%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ITC (up 1.3%), BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.2%) and TATA STEEL (up 0.9%). Other gainers include SBI (up 0.9%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 0.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 17,996 (up 0.2%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include TATA MOTORS (up 4.0%), HINDALCO (up 1.8%) and BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.5%). Other gainers include BHARTI AIRTEL (up 1.0%) and EICHER MOTOR (up 1.0%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 40,183 to 60,264, registering a gain of 20,081 points (up 50.0%).

TORRENT POWER Financial Update…

TORRENT POWER net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended June 2021, compared to a loss of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 4.9% to Rs 31.0 billion during the period as against Rs 29.5 billion in April-June 2020.

For the year ended March 2021, TORRENT POWER reported 9.9% increase in net profit to Rs 13.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.8 billion during FY20.

Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 122 billion during FY21.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 22.6x.<!–
